An electric chain hoist is a lifting device consisting of a few components. The most important components are an electric hoist motor, a gearbox, a drive wheel for the chain, the so-called chain sprocket, the chain with hook and the operating unit. When a load is lifted with the electric chain hoist, the motor moves the drive wheel of the chain via the gearbox. This moves the chain and lifts the load. There is usually a collection container for the chain under the housing of the electric chain hoist. The chain runs into this container so that it does not hang freely and represent a source of danger. The chain hoist is operated via a control unit, which is cable-connected in most devices.
100 m is the highest lifting height that ED Electric Chain Hoists from Kito allow. The standard lifting height of the other series starts at 1.8 m.
20,000 kg is the maximum load achieved by the Kito ER2-200IS chain hoist.
The most important safety mechanisms on an electric chain hoist are a slipping clutch and so-called hoist limit switches. The slipping clutch prevents the chain hoist from being overloaded. Lift limit switches automatically switch off the motor when the end of the chain reaches either the upper or lower stop.
Electric chain hoists from Kito offer a wide range of applications. In industry, they are used as hoists for crane systems, as aids for assembly work, on overhead conveyor systems or on column-mounted slewing cranes in the field of intralogistics.
In the load spectrum recorder, the load of an electric chain hoist is stored so that it can be evaluated. This data storage is of particular importance with regard to the determination of the already consumed share of the theoretically determined total service life for the electric chain hoist of this type in accordance with FEM and DGUV regulation 55.
